Ahoy Pelagians!

Our first 2026 monthly membership meeting of the year is soon and scheduled for April 16 at the Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. with social time starting at 6:30 p.m.

We hold seven monthly meetings each year, which provide great chances to catch up with friends, welcome new members, and introduce guests.

At the April meeting in Beverly, we will distribute the 2026 membership rosters. In May, the meeting will be at the SHYC and there too we will distribute your Pelagic roster. It is beneficial to update your details, such as your contact or cell number, email, and sailing credentials with referrals from those you have sailed with. This ensures that everyone has access to the most current information.

Meeting Location Survey Results to be Shared at April Meeting

At the April meeting, we will present the results from the Meeting Location Survey. In addition, we will share recommendations prepared by a five-person committee who also prepared the survey. I would like to thank committee members Pete Freeman, Stacy Okada-Garcia, Arthur Reed, Matt Richards and Mike Banic.

Summer Cruise Planning

Cruise Zoom meetings have taken place to organize an exciting season of established cruising events for this summer for our north shore and south shore boat-owner, skipper and crew members. The cruise committee members have worked diligently to finalize location and meeting plans for sailing events. Meryl Jacobson has uploaded the details to the website and will publish an article in WINDS for everyone’s reference for the next few months.

Spring Commissioning and Sailing

Spring is an enjoyable time for all our sailors in Pelagic. Please consider assisting any boat owner when and if you can and conducting evaluations so long as you have been a member for one or more years. Please look for the emails requesting assistance and members asking for evaluations. You can find the evaluation form online, and it is important to know the content prior to assessing an applicant. I have found it best to do an evaluation for an applicant asap once on board with Pelagic for membership so that we have more members and options for all boat-owner, skippers and crew members.

Soon we will sail!

Regards from the Commodore
